5 Days for the Homeless - Collapsable Towel

Our objectives for this campaign is rstly to ensure personal hygiene for both men and women, however mostly women. Due to the higher risks of infec- tion and sickness, caused by a lack of hygiene in women, we want to create
a product which can be utilized in more than one way.

We want to create a small easily portable towel, which has a ap at the end of it, to be able to fold into itself, thus creating a pil- low. The towel itself will be alot smaller than a regular towel. The great thing about this design is that once forlded into itself it does not take up very much room, to make it eas- ily portable.

Hygiene is very important for everyone, but for women it can sometimes be a slight challenge. Women can require different products for each area of the body for multiples different periods of the month. For homeless women this struggle is multiplied by 100, since they do not regularly have access to show- ers, feminine hygiene products or even soap. If not washed regularly women can develop skin abrasions and fungus beneath their breasts and between the creases in their skin. Also if women do not dry themselves fully, this can lead to multiple types of infections. Therefore, this towel makes it easier for homeless women to towel dry, due to the fact that it is easily portable and smaller than most towels.
